Commander William John Bunting U.S. Naval Reserve (Volunteer) World War II & Korean War 1903 - 1971 Serial Number: 118036 1920s - Bachelor's of Arts in Chemistry & Philosophy. 1930s - Insurance investigator and fire insurance. 1941 - Age 38, Assistant District Intelligence Officer for the Forth Naval District in Philadelphia.  1943 - Company Commander for Beach Battalion School. 1944 - South Pacific loading officer and Navy Fire Marshall at Advance Naval Base in Tulagi, British Solomon Islands and Noumena, New Caledonia. 1945 - Lt. Commander Naval Hospital Philadelphia Insurance & Benefits & War Bonds Officer. 1951 - Reactivated to serve in the Korean War for the Forth Naval District Intelligence Office. 1953 - Patient at Philadelphia Naval Hospital. 1962 - Discharged.

Pvt. Henry R. Prestage, U.S. Army (WWII)

  Pvt. Henry "Brownie" Russell Prestage U.S. Army - WWII Courtesy Bruce B. Mize (Grandson). Pvt. Henry R. Prestage enlisted into the United States Army on 30 June 1944 at Camp Shelby, Mississippi and was discharged 4 January 1946. While in service he was a heavy machine gunner and transferred to the motor pool. Upon his discharge, Pvt. Prestage hitch-hiked back home where he learned that his prized farming mules were sold. Undeterred, he began to work for the local Ford Dealership. Afterwards, he was a successful businessman selling produce to individuals and small country stores throughout the state of Mississippi.  Courtesy of Fold3.com.
